Subject:
Agreement No. SW2-100-4480, with Sierra Container Group, LLC, for Refuse and Recycling Containers
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council approve Agreement No. SW2-100-4480, with Sierra Container Group, LLC, for refuse and recycling containers, in an amount not to exceed $325,000, for the period of one year, May 15, 2022, through May 14, 2023.
Background/Discussion:
The Solid Waste Services Division purchases approximately 6,000 plastic refuse and recycling curbside containers annually. The containers are provided to newly-constructed homes and to existing homes requiring a replacement container or additional containers. In addition, approximately 1,000 replacement parts, consisting of lids and wheels, are used for container repairs after warranty expiration.
Evaluation:
On March 3, 2022, City staff issued Request for Proposal No. SW2-100-4480 for refuse and recycling containers. Notification was sent to all registered vendors. Five (5) proposals were received from the following offerors:
Cascade Engineering, Inc.
Otto Environmental Systems North America, Inc.
Schaefer Subco, LLC
Sierra Container Group, LLC
Toter, LLC
The Evaluation Committee evaluated the proposals recommends award to Sierra Container Group, LLC, which submitted the most advantageous offer to the City in accordance with the evaluation criteria.
