Proposed Motion:
Move City Council award Professional Services Agreement No. ST1616.451, to Consultant Engineering, Inc., for the Ocotillo Road Improvements - Gilbert Road to 148th Street
Construction Management
Services, in an amount not to exceed $678,806.
Background/Discussion:
The project will complete improvements on Ocotillo Road for two through lanes in the eastbound and westbound directions from Gilbert Road to 148th Street, per the 2010 Transportation Master Plan, and subsequent 2019 Transportation Master Plan Update. The project scope of work consists of pre-construction assistance, utility coordination, construction management, contract oversight, construction administration, construction inspection, materials testing quality assurance, Federal Highway Administration funding compliance, construction contract close-out, and Public Outreach services. The contract completion time is 360 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Construction is anticipated to commence in late summer or early fall 2022.
A related Professional Services Agreement with Ardurra Group, Inc., for the Ocotillo Road Improvements - Gilbert Road to 148th Street Post Design Services, is also scheduled for this City Council meeting.
A related Construction Contract with Haydon Building Corp., for the Ocotillo Road Improvements - Gilbert Road to 148th Street, is also scheduled for this City Council meeting.
Evaluation:
The selection process was conducted in accordance with City policy and procedure and State law. Staff recommends approval of this agreement with Consultant Engineering, Inc., based on qualifications, relevant firm experience, team experience, project understanding, and project approach.
