City Council Memorandum Information Technology Memo No. N/A
Date:
June 20, 2022
To:
Mayor and Council
Thru:
Joshua H. Wright, City Manager
Dawn Lang, Deputy City Manager - CFO
Sandip Dholakia, Chief Information Officer
From:
Kerstin Nold, Chief Technology Officer
Subject:
Purchase of Information Technology Temporary Contract Staffing Services
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council approve the purchase of information technology temporary contract staffing services, from Computer Aid, Inc., utilizing Sourcewell Contract No. 071321-CAI, in the amount of $3,480,842.
Background/Discussion:
The Information Technology (IT) Department has historically hired temporary employees to assist in special projects or backfill vacant positions by utilizing competitively bid temporary staffing agreements. These temporary employees have specialized skills in specific technical areas which complement IT staff and work on a temporary basis for a specific assignment. This request is for several temporary resources that will assist in technology infrastructure, security, Oracle software support, and project management (Information Technology Update Program (ITUP) Portfolio). The hourly rates range from $80 to $200 depending on the skill set required. The estimated duration of the assignments ranges from 6 to 18 months.
Evaluation:
Sourcewell competitively solicited and awarded a contract for managed service providers specifically for specialized technical IT staffing resources. The City has a current agreement with Sourcewell that permits the cooperative use of their contracts. The City of Chandler has an existing linking agreement with Computer Aid, Inc., for cooperative use under this contract. The term of the Sourcewell contract is valid through September 10, 2025.
Financial Implications:
Purchase of Information Technology Managed Service and Staff Augmentation Services will be funded with FY 2022-23 appropriation in the General Fund, Water and Wastewater Enterprise Funds, and General Government Capital Project Fund. Programs include the Project Management Consultants Program 6IC088, Budget Software Replacement Program 6IC121, and Digital Adoption Platform 6IC124.
