| Move City Council award Construction Agreement No. AI2302.401 to Combs Construction Company, Inc., for Taxiway B Improvements Phase 1, for an amount not to exceed $1,236,949.70. |
| Background/Discussion: |
Taxiway B Improvements Phase 1 is a partial extension of Taxiway B from Taxiway N, where the existing taxiway ends, to Taxiway L. Taxiway B will be designed to Aircraft Design Group II and Taxiway Design Group II standards. The taxiway will be 40’ wide, matching existing taxiways. The project will alleviate congestion near the threshold of Runway 4L-22R and Taxiway N.
This project was identified in the FAA’s Runway Safety Action Team process, as well as the 2021 Airport Master Plan approved by City Council.
The project scope of work consists of extending the existing Taxiway B by approximately 1,300 feet, connecting Taxiway L and Taxiway N. The project includes a new taxiway and shoulder pavement, pavement markings, grading, lighting, and electrical improvements. The taxiway will be 40 feet wide, and the paved shoulders will be 10 feet wide, both to match the existing taxiways. The Agreement completion time is 90 calendar days following Notice to Proceed.
This project is included in the Capital Improvement Program. The construction work will be funded entirely by an Arizona Department of Transportation Grant. No local match is required. |
