Subject:
Construction Services Agreement No. ST2103.505, SRP Contract No. 4225072, with Salt River Project (SRP), for the Ray Road and Dobson Road Intersection Improvements
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council award Construction Services Agreement No. ST2103.505, SRP Contract No. 4225072, to SRP, for the Ray Road and Dobson Road Intersection Improvements, in an amount not to exceed $352,235.
Background/Discussion:
On September 18, 2023, the City Council approved the design agreement for the Ray Road and Dobson Road Intersection Improvements. This project includes widening the intersection of Ray and Dobson roads to improve capacity and safety, as well as the addition of bike lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalk, raised medians, traffic signal modifications, street lighting, and storm drainage. As part of the project, SRP will need to relocate the underground 12KV distribution electrical infrastructure throughout the project area as required. The scope of work to be performed by SRP for this agreement includes the design and installation of pad-mounted devices and 12 kV conductors.
There are two agreements with SRP on the agenda related to this project. This agreement is for the relocation of SRP electrical conductors and equipment, while the other agreement with SRP is for the actual undergrounding of the electrical lines within the project area.
Evaluation:
SRP will self-perform the associated work, which includes all the trenching, conduit, backfill, and restoration needed to complete the project. The city is required to reimburse SRP for all associated costs to relocate its facilities.
