Thru:

From:
Subject:
Fire and Emergency Medical Dispatch Services Appropriation for Fiscal Year 2021-22
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council approve payment for fire and emergency medical dispatch services for Fiscal Year 2021-22, in accordance with the current intergovernmental agreement with the City of Phoenix, in the amount of $1,321,186.44.
Background:
The current intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Phoenix Fire Department has provided the Chandler Fire Department (CFD) with dispatch services, technical services, and equipment maintenance. In FY 2008-09, the fire and emergency medical services (EMS) automatic aid regional consortium instituted a full cost recovery approach to recoup operating budget related to personnel, new equipment, and upgrades to current equipment.
Through CFD’s IGA with the Phoenix Fire Department, Professional Medical Transport (PMT) Ambulance dispatch services are also provided. PMT Ambulance will reimburse the City of Chandler $219,147.20 for these services.
Discussion:
Staff recommends City Council approve the appropriation for fire and emergency medical dispatch services for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22, in accordance with the current Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Phoenix, in the amount of $1,321,186.44.
Financial Implications:
The financial implication is $1,321,186.44, which is appropriated in the FY 2021-22 Fire Operating Budget, line item 101.2210.5219. PMT Ambulance will reimburse the City $219,147.20.
