Pre-Design
Services
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council Award Professional Services Agreement No. AI2204.101 to Dibble Engineering, for the Rehabilitate Hangar Area Pavement Assessment
Pre-Design
Services, in an amount not to exceed $59,936.
Background/Discussion:
This project will provide pre-design services for the Hangar Area Pavement Rehabilitation Assessment Project at Chandler Municipal Airport. The scope of this project includes design concept recommendations and the engineer’s estimate of construction costs for the recommended improvements.
The pavement that will be assessed is located around the City-owned hangars on the northwest side of the airfield. The pavement is close to the end of its useful life. Heavy use of the pavement and prior asphalt work has altered the original water drainage grades in relation to the hangars. These changes in the drainage grades have resulted in water entering hangars during heavy storm events.
This corrective project is identified within the Airport Master Plan (2021) and included in the Airport Capital Improvement Program (ACIP). The goal of the project is to correct the drainage flows around the hangars so water will flow away from the hangars to the appropriate Airport drainage structures. The project scope of work consists of topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, and civil engineering services. The contract completion time is 120 calendar days following Notice to Proceed.
Evaluation:
The selection process was conducted in accordance with City policy and procedure and State law. This project is being performed under the On-Call Consultant Pre-Qualified List for Airport Services. Staff recommends approval of this agreement with Dibble Engineering based on qualifications, relevant firm experience, team experience, project understanding, and project approach.
