Proposed Motion: |
Move City Council approve Agreement No. CS2-595-4335, Amendment No. 1, with Pioneer Landscape Centers, Inc., for rock, granite, and miscellaneous supplies, in an amount not to exceed $915,000, for a one-year period, September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023. |
Background/Discussion: |
The Community Services and Public Works and Utilities departments require ornamental rock, granite, topsoil, river rock, rip rap, in-field mix, and engineered wood fiber for a wide variety of applications. These materials are used throughout the City's park system to refresh rock areas, top dress fields, level ball fields, and fill in playground areas with engineered wood fiber. The Public Works and Utilities Department uses rock for basins, erosion repair, and regrading. |
Evaluation: |
On August 12, 2021, City Council approved an agreement with Pioneer Landscape Centers, Inc., for rock, granite, and miscellaneous supplies, for a one-year period, with the option of up to four additional one-year extensions. The contractor has agreed to extend for one additional year at the same terms, conditions, and with an average price increase of 30% due to significant fuel and labor price increases. The vendor agrees to revise product pricing as fuel costs decrease. Staff recommends extension of this agreement for the term of September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023. This is the first extension of the original agreement. |
