City staff currently utilizes a traditional learning content creator and job aid materials solution from Oracle called User Productivity Kit (UPK), which is quickly approaching end of life and will not be supported after December 31, 2022.
In May 2022, City staff piloted new technology, digital adoption platform (DAP), which modernizes the overall training experience, boosts employee productivity through real-time in application step-by-step guidance, enables virtual assistants, and captures data analytics that drive future solution adoption and technology investment efforts throughout the City. This solution will replace UPK training content and expand to other internal City technology systems.
Originally this project was anticipated to be completed using this contract and another contract for project management, but internal staff is now managing this project. Additionally, the content has proved to be much more complicated and technical to create in Oracle. Therefore, this request is to shift $120,000 of unused project management spending authority to the WalkMe, Inc., professional services to complete transferring the Oracle UPK content prior to end of support, December 31, 2022.
The WalkMe, Inc., managed services will be retained for a period of one year. Other City enterprise systems will also be transferred to the WalkMe platform in the future. Having these managed services will assist the City in accelerating the path forward for adding additional content on the digital adoption platform.
