| Move City Council approve Agreement No. CS4-958-4774, with Artistic Land Management, Inc., BrightView Landscape Services, Inc., Grounds Control, LLC, and West Coast Arborists, Inc., for the supply and installation of trees, in a combined amount not to exceed $767,000, for a three-year term, September 13, 2024, through September 12, 2027, with the option to extend through June 30, 2028. |
| Background/Discussion: |
The city recently received a U.S. Forest Service grant in the amount of $767,000. The scope of the grant includes planting trees that will address the challenge of extreme heat and the human health issues associated with a lack of tree canopy in a desert environment.
The City of Chandler will target disadvantaged communities that lack equitable access to trees, as identified in the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool (CEJST). A key partner in this effort is the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD), which will educate students on urban forestry with tree plantings at public parks and properties.
The project goals are to increase tree canopy to maximize the benefits trees offer while providing education to students and the community. The four selected vendors will provide services to complete these goals by installing irrigation, procuring trees from nurseries, providing labor to plant trees. |

On June 20, 2024, City staff issued Request for Proposal No. CS4-958-4774 for the supply and installation of trees. Notification was sent to all registered vendors and four proposals were received from the following offerors:
Artistic Land Management, Inc.
BrightView Landscape Services, Inc.
Grounds Control, LLC
West Coast Arborists, Inc.
The evaluation committee evaluated the proposals and recommends award to Artistic Land Management, Inc., BrightView Landscape Services, Inc., Grounds Control, LLC, and West Coast Arborists, Inc. All vendors meet the evaluation criteria requirements. Awarding to all vendors ensures services and supplies are available as needed. The term of the agreement is September 13, 2024, through September 12, 2027, with the option to extend through June 30, 2028. |
