Proposed Motion:

Move City Council pass and adopt Resolution No. 5832 approving annexation of county right-of-way located on Cooper Road between Alamosa Drive and Riggs Road, contingent upon approval by Maricopa County.

Background Data:

The City has recently constructed roadway widening improvements on Cooper Road from Alamosa Drive to Riggs Road. Annexation of the right of way is necessary for these improvements, as Maricopa County properties represent 16% of the project frontage.  Ongoing operations and maintenance expenses were programmed into Streets/Traffic Project 6ST675 (see attached). In 2018, an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Chandler and Maricopa County was established for the right of way assistance and improvements to Cooper Road from Alamosa Drive to Riggs Road.  City of Chandler will maintain Cooper Road.
