This request is for the purchase of 35 battery backup units that will be used to replace inoperable or poor performing units. These units are used to temporarily power traffic signals at major signalized intersections during power outages, including 14 signalized intersections that are connected to railroad warning equipment.
Evaluation:
The battery backup units are available from Texas Highway Products, Ltd., through the BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Contract 608-20.
