The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Garland convened in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at City Hall, 200 North Fifth Street, Garland, Texas, with the following members:

ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION
a.
MELISSA GOMEZ - SENIOR SOURCE DALLAS- Spoke to the commission on resources that the Senior Source Dallas can do for seniors.
The Senior Source is the go-to resource for Dallas-area seniors to navigate aging. Learn about resources for seniors in Dallas through The Senior Source, Making Older Better. Senior Financial Services. Family Caregiver Support. Senior Volunteer Services. They can assist with utilities, provide companion supervision for seniors, and at no cost to clients.
b.
POLICE OFFICER REPORT -
Officer Maldonado spoke about the Christmas shopping season. Be aware of your surroundings, have a plan, keep bags out of sight, and be patient during the season.

Members played games; enjoyed fair food such as corny dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and frito pie; and participated in a costume contest
Friendsgiving Pot Luck November 10 with musical entertainment
Veterans Breakfast November 11
Christmas Lunch December 16 with musical entertainment
November Future Activities at Carver Senior Center
Jewelry making, Zumba, and Chair Yoga class that will be at GAC starting in January.
Afternoon Arts class Monday and Wednesday
Breakfast on the first Tuesday of the month will resume in Jan.
