The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Garland convened in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, 200 North Fifth Street, Garland, Texas, with the following members:

Senior Center Construction Update - D’Lee Williams
Senior centers. 2 different options
All wet or all dry ( all dry was chosen) NO POOL
New design will be 1.67 acers
Projected amount is 17,490.00
26,128 Base Plan
Tribute element design in the works
Design will be completed in first quarterly of 2024
With the complete plan completed by the end of 4

quarter of 2024
Construction to be completed by 3

District 8 Update - Councilman Chris Ott
Councilman Ott introduced himself to the commission. And went gave an update on what was going on in District 8. Councilman Ott also stated that it was the annual operation cost of the pool that was a one of the biggest reason to not go with a pool for the new Senior Center.
