Resolution - Wastewater Operations:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Contract 16948 with Polydyne, Inc., for the purchase of Liquid Polymer for use at the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant.
Item Summary
The City's Southeast Water Reclamation Plant (SEWRP) treats approximately 19.5 million gallons of wastewater each day. The treatment process separates solids from liquids. Chemicals are used to treat both the solids and liquids and prepares them for reuse and/or disposal.
The chemical being considered in this contract is used to dewater sludge in the solids handling process at the SEWRP. This specialized chemical is used to meet the City’s SEWRP Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Wastewater Discharge Permit. Approximately 816,000 pounds of polymer chemical will be used annually at the SEWRP in the solids handling process.
