Resolution - Public Health Service:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Vector Control Service Agreement, by and between the City of Lubbock and Lubbock County, Texas, and related documents.
Item Summary
The interlocal agreement will allow for provision of vector control services to Lubbock County, outside the city limits of Lubbock. The City agrees to provide treatment of playas and recurring water sources as needed, and 6 applications of an ultra low-volume adulticide, using truck-mounted applicators. The City will provide weekly reports to the County to inform of sprayed locations. In the event additional mosquito applications are necessary, due to heavier than normal rain or mosquito borne disease outbreaks, the County will pay the direct cost for each additional applications beyond 6 per year.
The County agrees to pay the City a lump sum amount of $175,000 for this service this year, and for each year of the agreement. This amount is to be paid no later than 30 days after execution of this agreement by both parties. In subsequent years, payment is due by December 15th of each year.
The term of this agreement will be effective from October 1, 2022, and may be continued by mutual agreement by both parties, from year to year, for a maximum of 4 additional one-year terms.
Fiscal Impact
The City will receive $175,000 annually in revenue from Lubbock County.
