Resolution - Community Development:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Contract 16963, and all related documents, between the City of Lubbock Community Development Department and the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), for the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
Item Summary
This is a contract for Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding from HUD. The funds will be used for emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and Administration.
The Community Development and Services Board (CDSB) held a public hearing on June 8, 2022, followed by a public board meeting on July 13, 2022, to discuss and approve the 2022 Action Plan draft. The Action Plan is the document that was submitted to HUD and serves as the City’s application for, and proposed use of ESG Grant funding. HUD has reviewed and approved this Action Plan. CDSB recommends acceptance of the FY 2022 ESG funding from HUD.
Fiscal Impact
There is no fiscal impact on the General Fund involved with this contract. The funds used originate from HUD. The maximum allocation of this grant is $186,658.
