Resolution - Engineering:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 4 to Contract 14034, with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for additional engineering services related to the Upland Avenue Paving Improvements Project between 66th Street and 114th Street.
Item Summary
On August 23, 2018, the City Council awarded Contract 14034 to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for providing environmental assessment and schematic roadway design of Upland Avenue between 66th Street and 114th Street.
On December 3, 2019, the City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to this contract, to amend the scope of work to include the following:
Right-of-way acquisition services for the Upland Avenue Corridor between 66th Street and 114th Street;
Final roadway design of Upland Avenue from 66th Street to 98th Street; and
Drainage improvements design for 66th Street and the Upland Avenue area.
On February 23, 2021, the City Council awarded Amendment No. 2 to this contract, to amend the scope of work to include services for an archeological survey, in compliance with the Texas Natural Resources Code, Chapter 191, the Antiquities Code of Texas (ACT).
On February 8, 2022, the City Council awarded Amendment No. 3 to this contract, to amend the scope of work to include final design services for Upland Avenue paving improvements between 98th Street and 114th Street, which included drainage design, traffic control and signal plans, utility coordination, bid phase services, and construction phase services.
Amendment No. 4 to this contract will amend the scope of work to include additional Right-of-Way acquisition services, for the Upland Avenue Paving Improvements Project between 98th Street and 114th Street.
Contract negotiations were conducted with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., and fair and reasonable hourly rates were determined for a total amount not to exceed $351,200 with a 12-month extension to perform the services.
Fiscal Impact
This contract amendment is in the amount of $351,200 and is funded in Capital Improvements Project 92510, Upland Avenue 66th to 82nd Street.
