Resolution - Public Works:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 1, to Advanced Funding Agreement (AFA), Contract 16170, between the City of Lubbock and the State of Texas, acting through the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), for the Pedestrian and Bicyclist Connectivity Project inside Loop 289, at various locations.
Item Summary
This is an Amendment to the original AFA document that adds a TxDOT tracking number and some small insubstantial changes to the original AFA document. It was discovered by TxDOT that the original AFA, as prepared by TxDOT, and approved by the City Council on October 26, 2021, was not updated to include changes by their legal department prior to October.
The Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) approved the use of Category 9 "Transportation Alternatives" Program (TAP) funding, for the construction of the City of Lubbock Pedestrian and Bicyclist connectivity project within Loop 289. This is an Advanced Funding Agreement (AFA) between the City of Lubbock and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), which will allocate federal funds for this purpose. The costs will be allocated based on 80% federal funding with the remaining 20% funded by the City of Lubbock. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1,000,962, and the City's 20% portion of the project is $222,369.
