Continuing American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Discussion Jarrett Atkinson, city manager, gave a presentation on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds as they relate to the City of Lubbock and answered questions from City Council. Topics discussed included: an update on the ledger, available balances, the status of projects that have been approved, and projects currently in development. Blu Kostelich, chief financial officer, gave comments and answered questions from City Council. Erik Rejino, assistant city manager, gave a presentation on ARPA funds as they relate to job training projects and the broadband expansion project and answered questions from City Council. Shaun Fogerson, fire chief; and Floyd Mitchell, chief of police, gave a presentation on ARPA funds as they relate to public safety projects and needs and answered questions from City Council. |

Presentation of a Special Recognition to Lubbock Independent School District recognizing Youth Art Month and Theatre in Our Schools Month in Lubbock
Mayor Pro Tem Steve Massengale presented a special recognition to Lubbock Independent School District recognizing March as Youth Art Month and Theatre in Our Schools Month in Lubbock. He encouraged all Lubbock citizens to view Lubbock ISD's Youth Art Month exhibits on display at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts from March 1, 2022, though March 27, 2022; and the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center from February 28, 2022, through March 28, 2022. Dr. Kathy Rollo, superintendent of Lubbock ISD, gave comments and thanked City Council for the special recognition.
