Resolution - Parks and Recreation:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Purchase Order 10026128, with EZ Dock of Texas, Inc., for the purchase and installation of a fishing dock at Mackenzie Park Lake, in the Jim Bertram Canyon Lakes System in the City of Lubbock.
Item Summary
Throughout the Jim Bertram Canyon Lakes System, a number of docks have been placed to provide fishing access for public use. Park Development Staff evaluated the lake system for potential new dock locations and chose Mackenzie Park Lake, in order to provide a more accessible fishing area for the public.
EZ Dock of Texas, Inc., listed as a vendor in the BuyBoard purchasing program (#679-22), was contacted by staff to provide a quote for new floating plastic docks. The Parks and Recreation Department has previously purchased several of the floating plastic docks for use throughout the Canyon Lakes System.
BuyBoard is a local Government Purchasing Cooperative created to increase the purchasing power of government entities and to simplify their purchasing by using a customized online purchasing system. Its purpose is to obtain the benefits and efficiencies that can accrue to members of a cooperative, to comply with state bidding requirements, and to identify qualified vendors of commodities, goods, and services.
This dock is a standard T-head structure with a fishing pier. This dock will attach to a concrete abutment at the shore.
Parks and Recreation staff will install the concrete abutment. The quote for the Mackenzie Park Lake location is $78,992.26.
The Contract includes:
Aluminum gangways with handrails and installation
Abutment and hinge brackets
80 inches x 10 feet dock sections
Galvanized steel anchor tubing
Solar-LED posts and lamps
Associated screws and connectors
Shipping and handling
Time for completion of the installation process is 60 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with 4-6 weeks leave time for materials. Liquidated damages are $100 per day, assessed after the project due date.
Fiscal Impact
A total of $78,992.26 for Purchase Order 10026128, with EZ Dock of Texas, Inc., is funded in Capital Improvement Project 92567, Dock and Bridge Replacement.
