Resolution - Aviation:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Purchase Order 25101432, with Avidbots Corp., for a fully autonomous robotic floor cleaner at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.
Item Summary
Managing floor cleaning at a large facility like an airport is challenging and requires continual attention. Upon completion of the terminal building remodel, the demand and need for consistent, high quality cleaning and sanitization is at an all-time high. In October 2021, the airport leased a fully autonomous robotic floor cleaner (Neo) to test for several months. The entire space of the airport was mapped and a fully customizable cleaning plan was generated by Neo. The equipment has performed as expected, aiding staff in managing floor cleaning.
The Avidbots Command Center provides a web-based software allowing airport staff to monitor, manage, and track the robotic floor cleaner in real time. E-stop buttons, bumpers, and integrated warning lights means the robotic floor cleaner keeps the operating environment safe. The software generates in-depth performance reports and tracks the metrics of the total area cleaned, total cleaning time, productivity, and water consumption. With advanced diagnostics, Neo is able to detect when problems arise streamlining, troubleshooting, and minimizing costly downtime.
The purchase will include annual preventative maintenance for cleaning plan, remote monitoring and assistance, tech support, and service. Airport staff and Airport Advisory Board recommend purchasing the fully autonomous robotic floor cleaner for $53,538 from Avidbots Corp. of Ontario, Canada. This purchase is made through National Purchasing Partners GOV#PSS20005, a national cooperative procurement organization offering publicly solicited competitive contracts to government entities nationwide.
Fiscal Impact
Purchase Order 25101432, for $53,538, will be funded in the FY 2021-22 Airport Operating Budget.
