Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 2 to Contract 15208, with Freese and Nichols, Inc., for providing construction phase services related to the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant Effluent Pump Station #2 Improvements Project.
Item Summary
The purpose of the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant (SEWRP) Effluent Pump Station #2 Improvements Project is to upgrade mission critical pumping and electrical components of the effluent pump station to increase the efficiency and overall reliability of the Wastewater Treatment Plant operation.
On June 23, 2020, City Council awarded Professional Services Contract 15208 to Freese and Nichols, Inc., for providing preliminary design services for the Project.
On January 12, 2021, City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to this contract to amend the scope of work to include final design, development of contract documentation, and bid phase services for upgrading the electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and HVAC systems of the effluent pumping station.
Amendment No. 2 to this contract will authorize the Engineer to perform Construction Phase Services during the construction of the project. Contract negotiations were conducted with Freese and Nichols, Inc., and fair and reasonable hourly rates were determined for a total amendment amount not to exceed $373,174 with 700 additional consecutive calendar days to perform the additional services. Staff recommends approval of this second amendment.
Fiscal Impact
This contract amendment is the amount of $373,174.00, and is funded in Capital Improvements Project 92656, SEWRP Effluent Pump Station #2 Improvements.
