Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Change Order No. 2 to Contract 15758, with West Texas Paving, Inc., for the construction of Indiana Avenue from 130th Street
to Woodrow Road.
Item Summary
This project involves the construction of a 7-lane roadway section from 130th Street to 135th Street and 3-lane roadway section from 135th Street to approximately 158th Street and was bid with RFP 21-15758-JM. A contract with West Texas Paving, Inc. was awarded by the City Council on March 23, 2021.
Change Order No.1 included telecommunication box adjustments, additional earthwork/compaction of an existing sewer main, and sewer manhole adjustments.
This proposed Change Order No. 2 extends the limits of the full-width pavement south from 158th Street to Woodrow Road. This work was originally intended to be performed as part of the Woodrow Road reconstruction, but will instead be constructed as part of the Indiana project currently under construction. All work will be performed using existing line items and bid prices from the Indiana contract and will add $544,384.00 with an additional 110 calendar days to complete the work. Lubbock County is providing the funding for this Change Order No. 2 and there is no cost to the City of Lubbock.
Fiscal Impact
This contract Change Order No. 2 is in the amount of $544,384.00 and is funded in Capital Improvements Project 92625, Indiana Avenue from 130th Street to 146th Street. Lubbock County is providing the funding for the award of this change order to the City of Lubbock.
