Resolution - Public Health Services:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Cooperation Contract, Department of State Health Services Contract No. HHS001083000001, for activities to establish, expand, train and sustain the public health workforce in support of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) Response, and in alignment with the Public Health Crisis Response Cooperative Agreement for Emergency Response (Funding Opportunity Number CDC-RFA-TP19-1802), from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), by and between the City of Lubbock, and the State of Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), and all related documents.
Item Summary
This is an existing contract that helps fund employee salaries and training opportunities for Health Department Staff. The purpose of this amendment is to add a no-cost extension to continue to establish, expand, train and sustain the public health workforce in support of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) response and in alignment with the Public Health Crisis Response Cooperative Agreement for Emergency Response (Funding Opportunity Number CDC-RFA-TP19-1802) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The amendment extends the contract from June 30, 2023, to June 30, 2024. The contract term is now September 10, 2021, through June 30, 2024.

This is an existing grant and no additional funds were added to this amendment.
