Resolution - Information Technology:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Purchase Order 32600022, with Dailey & Wells Communications, Inc., for the upgrade of the Harris P25 Public Safety Radio System used by local and regional public safety partners.
Item Summary
The purchase will provide for the upgrade of the Harris P25 Public Safety Radio System. The radio system has not been upgraded since the initial installation in 2015. The upgrade will bring the radio system hardware and software up to current supported standards and provide for consistent and secure communications for City of Lubbock Police, Lubbock Fire and Rescue, City Departments, and our regional public safety partners that utilize the system.
Dailey Wells Communications, Inc., is the sole source provider for the Harris System in the region. The sole source procurement is exempt from competitive bidding pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Chapter 252.022(a)(7)(A).
Fiscal Impact
Purchase Order 32600022 for $747,278.55, is funded in Capital Improvement Project 92780 Radio Shop, Radio System Upgrade.
