Mr. Hopper also introduced Grace Hernandez, Clark Lambert, Beth Lawson, Kay McDowell, Brad Moran, Corey Powell, Eddie Schulz, and Craig Wells, who are members of the City Branding campaign committee. |

Police Department Update on Crime Statistics Jarrett Atkinson, city manager, introduced the item. Neal Barron, assistant chief of police, gave a presentation on crime statistics in Lubbock and answered questions from City Council. Topics discussed included: crimes against persons; property crimes; current partnerships with state and federal agencies; and proactive actions being taken by the Lubbock Police Department to combat crime. |

Presentation of a Special Recognition honoring the Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club on their 100th Anniversary and their Paul Harris Fellows recognition to Katherine Wells and Dr. Ron Cook
Mayor Daniel M. Pope and Council member Latrelle Joy presented a special recognition honoring the Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club on their 100th Anniversary. Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club President Joe Puckett gave comments and thanked his fellow Rotarians, and the Lubbock community, for their hard work and support throughout the years. Mr. Puckett also presented Katherine Wells, director of public health; and Dr. Ron Cook, local health authority, with the Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club's Paul Harris Fellows recognition; while also recognizing Owen Hamilton, who was in attendance, for his 62 years of service to the Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club.

Citizen Comments - According to Lubbock City Council Rules, any citizen wishing to appear in-person before a regular meeting of the City Council, regarding any matter posted on the City Council Agenda below, shall complete the sign-up form provided at the meeting, no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 27, 2021. If a citizen is attending the meeting by video or teleconference, they may submit a citizen comment by email at citizencomments@mylubbock.us, no later than 2:00 p.m. on April 27, 2021. Submitted comments must include name and address. Each comment will be read aloud for a period of time not to exceed three minutes pursuant to City Council Rules. Citizen Comments is an opportunity for citizens to make comments and express a position on agenda items. Any comment received that is in the nature of asking a question will be referred to an appropriate member of the City staff for a response. Public Hearings – Any person wishing to speak at a posted public hearing (Items 7.1 - 7.8) may do so via Zoom by using the “Raised Hand” feature.
