The City Council authorized Construction Contract 14965, with MH Civil Constructors, Inc. of Amarillo, Texas, on March 24, 2020, with a contract price of $15,000,000 and 600 calendar days for construction time. The Notice to Proceed was issued on May 27, 2020, and the project start date was June 15, 2020. The City Council authorized Change Order No. 1 to Contract 14965, on February 22, 2021, which added additional rebar post-design to the new backwash basin at the North Water Treatment Plant (NWTP), replaced Filter 16 media and underdrains at the NWTP, replaced two valves on the filter backwash system, and removed and replaced corroded metal baffles inside the plate settler basins at the South Water Treatment Plant (SWTP). This change order added $671,900 to the contract price and increased the construction time by 58 days. Change Order No. 2 was authorized by City Council on July 13, 2021, and incorporated modifications addressing existing pipe supports for the 36-inch Concrete Cylinder Pipe (CCP) inside the sedimentation basins. This change order added $149,224, with no additional time for the modifications. Change Order No. 3 will reconcile remaining changes d,e to field conditions and design adjustments during construction. Change Order No. 3 results in a credit to the City in the amount of $101,997, with no change in construction time. The revised contract amount with all change orders is $15,719,127. |
