Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Change Order No. 2 to Contract 15792, with MH Civil Constructors, Inc., for the construction of Pressure Zone Delineation and Elevated Storage Tank Off-Site Water Lines.
Item Summary
On April 5, 2021, the City Council awarded Contract 15792 (RFP 21-15792-JM), to MH Civil Constructors, Inc., in the amount of $2,426,000, for the construction of the Pressure Zone Delineation and Elevated Storage Tank Off-Site Water Lines Project. The purpose of this project is to establish and delineate the pressure plane between the east and west pressure zones, replace or rehabilitate broken valves along the pressure plan boundary, and install pipe where a proper pressure zone cannot be established within the current water system.
Change Order No. 1 with MH Civil Constructors, Inc. was executed on December 7, 2021. This change order included the installation of a 12-inch water line by means other than open cut and associated pavement repairs, new 16-inch valves at the intersection of 50th Street and Indiana Avenue, and a 24-inch line stop. Change Order No. 1 added $532,164.00 with no additional time added to the contract.
Change Order No. 2 is a reconciliation change order for quantity over-runs and under-runs, resulting in a credit to the City of $194,986, with no additional time added.
Fiscal Impact
Change Order No. 2 is a credit in the amount of $194,986.00 and is funded in Capital Improvements Project 92454, Water Lines Ahead of Street Paving.
