Consider a resolution authorizing the Fleet Support and Acquisition Coordinator or the Fleet Administrative Assistant for the City's Fleet Services, to execute all documents pertaining to exemption from the inscription requirements established by Chapter 721 of the Texas Transportation Code, for vehicles assigned to the City of Lubbock Police Department.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles requires a City Council Resolution to accompany an application when applying for General Issue License Plates for Exempt Vehicles.
Vehicles owned or controlled by exempt agencies that are not required to display an identification inscription on the vehicles, by authority of Transportation Code Chapter 721, must submit a City Council Resolution, when applying for General Issue License Plates for Exempt Vehicles. The resolution must contain the name of the exempt agency and the person designated to apply for general issue license plates.
Vehicles not identified by a unit number and city logo are prohibited from displaying "Exempt" License Plates, and must use General Issue Plates.
