Item Summary
Plan Lubbock 2040, the City's Comprehensive Plan, was adopted by the City Council in December 2018. This plan contains a framework of goals, actions, and timeframes for the City of Lubbock to implement, in order to support the vision expressed in the document. One of the implementation goals was to formally initiate a Lubbock Neighborhood Planning Program. In April 2022, upon recommendation from the Neighborhood Planning Committee, the City Council approved the Dunbar-Manhattan Heights Neighborhood (District 2) and the Jackson-Mahon Neighborhood (District 1), to be the first two neighborhoods to receive a Neighborhood Plan.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the Neighborhood Plan for the Dunbar-Manhattan Heights Neighborhood at their meeting on March 7, 2024, by a unanimous vote of 8-0-0.
