Consider Ordinance No. 2024-O0043, abandoning and closing portions of alley right-of-way abutting Lot 8, Block 4, Clutter Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.
Item Summary
On March 26, 2024, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance.
The City of Lubbock is in receipt of a request to abandon and close portions of an alley abutting Lot 8 between 48th Street and 50th Street, east of Vanda Avenue, for String Enterprises LLC.
The total area of the alley being closed is 2,003.76 square feet. Based on adjacent land values, the Right-of-Way Department valued the closure at $0.50 per square foot, for a total of $1,002. String Enterprises desires to close the alley to expand their operations. The adjacent landowner has agreed in writing with this closure.
All City departments and franchise utility companies are in agreement with the closure.
