Consider Ordinance No. 2024-O0044, abandoning and closing portions of alley right-of-way abutting, Block 10, from 29th Street to 30th Street, between I-27 and Avenue G, Morning Side Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.
Item Summary
On March 26, 2024, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance.
The City of Lubbock is in receipt of a request to abandon and close the alley in Block 10, from 29th Street to 30th Street, between I-27 and Avenue G, on behalf of RHP, LLC, Brison Properties and Kristinek Turner Enterprises, LLC.
The total area of the alley being closed is 4,237 square feet. Based on adjacent land values, the Right-of-Way Department valued the closure at $1.00 per square foot for a total of $4,237. Upon the approval of the closure, the group will submit a final plat granting utility easements.
All City departments and franchise utility companies are in agreement with the closure.

$4,237 revenue to the General Fund
