The City of Lubbock has been awarded an Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant Equipment Voucher Rebate through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This project will fund the replacement of the Chiller at the Police Academy. The existing unit is an R22 Chiller Condenser Plant made up of three individual pieces of equipment and will be replaced with a single equipment package. Additional voucher funds will be used to retrofit and replace aging lighting systems with LED lighting at various city facilities that are listed below. ♦ City of Lubbock Community Centers lighting upgrade and replacement:
• Copper Rawlings Community Center, 213 40th Street
• Hodges Community Center, 4011 University Avenue
• Mae Simmons Community Center, 2004 Oak Avenue
• Maxey Community Center, 4020 30th Street
• Lubbock Adult Activity Center, 2001 19th Street
• Mae Simmons Community and Adult Activity Center, 2004 Oak Avenue
♦ Water Utilities and Public Service Operations Center, 600 Municipal Drive
