Pursuant to Texas Utilities Code Section 104.301, the West Texas Division of Atmos Energy Corporation (the “Company”), filed an application for an Interim Rate Adjustment with the Railroad Commission of Texas, on February 23, 2024. This proposed Interim Rate Adjustment applies to all customers served by the Company within the Triangle Distribution System of the West Texas Division, and provides for the recovery of additional capital investment incurred from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. The request is for capital investment not included in any previous rate case or rates for service, and is subject to refund. The Company proposes to increase the city gate/transportation charge used to calculate the customer’s monthly bill, by the amount listed below. The proposed Interim Rate Adjustment effective date is April 23, 2024. In accordance with Texas Utilities Code Section 104.101, the increase constitutes a major change in the Company’s rates.

The City recommends suspending the effective date by the statutory allowable forty-five (45) days, to June 7, 2024, in order to allow additional time to review the data and calculations that provide the basis for the rate increase application, and to determine whether the Company's application conforms to the requirements of the GRIP statute. A copy of the Company's filing is available for review in the City Secretary's Office.
