Ordinance 2nd Reading - Right-of-Way:
Consider Ordinance No. 2024-O0059, abandoning and closing portions of an alley right-of-way apron on the west side of Elgin Avenue, south of 138th Place, located in Section 1, Block AK, Lubbock County, Texas.
Item Summary
On April 9, 2024, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance.
The City of Lubbock is in receipt of a request to abandon and close an alley right-of-way apron on the west side of Elgin Avenue, south of 138th Place on behalf of AMD Engineering.
The total area of the alley apron is 300 square feet. Based on adjacent land values, the Right-of-Way Department valued the closure at $6 per square foot for a total of $1,800. AMD Engineering desires to close the alley apron to change the lot lines for the Viridian addition, Lots 390 and 415, since there will no longer be an alley. There are no adjacent landowners.
All City departments and franchise utility companies are in agreement with the closure.
