Resolution - Engineering:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Change Order No. 1 to Contract 17001, with Utility Contractors of America, Inc., for the Detroit Avenue Lift Station No. 34 Replacement Project.
Item Summary
The 2020 Wastewater Collection Master Plan determined that Lift Station 34 was in need of replacement. On March 7, 2023, City Council awarded Contract 17001 to Utility Contractors of America, (UCA) in the amount of $1,565,668 for the construction of the Detroit Ave Lift Station.
Change Order No. 1 includes modifications to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and adjustment of the asphalt pavement limits for the Detroit Lift Station Project. The net change in contract price will be a $247,022 credit, resulting in a revised contract price of $1,318,646 with an additional 90-day time extension for substantial completion.
Staff recommends award of Change Order No. 1 to Contract 17001, with Utility Contractors of America, Inc., for a $247,022 credit, with an additional 90 days for substantial completion.
Fiscal Impact
$247,022 will be credited to Capital Improvements Project 92591, Lift Station Rehabilitation.
