Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 2 to Contract 14076, with Freese and Nichols, Inc., for electrical safety studies after the construction of the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant Electrical Improvements Phase 2 Project.
Item Summary
The Southeast Water Reclamation Plant (SEWRP) Electrical Improvements Phase 2 Project will provide for the replacement of the aging electrical infrastructure and equipment at the SEWRP to meet Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) permit requirements and current electrical codes. The project will allow the SEWRP to maintain compliance with the City’s Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination Permit during power outages and emergencies.
On June 28, 2018, Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) was awarded Contract 14076 for the design of Phase 2 of the SEWRP Electrical Improvements Project.
On June 12, 2020, a modification for time extension on professional services contract altered the base contract by $0 and a 6-month contract extension.
On July 14, 2020, Amendment No. 1 increased the base contract by $192,713 and provided 540 days contract extension for construction phase services associated with the electrical improvements at the SEWRP.
Amendment No. 2 will provide an additional 6-month contract extension with no additional funds in order to complete the arc flash study at the SEWRP.
Fiscal Impact
Amendment No. 2 will not add additional money to existing Contract 14076 that is funded in Capital Improvement Project 92445, SEWRP Transformer Rehabilitation.
