The current water system models indicate the area surrounding the Reese Research Center could possibly fall below the regulatory minimum water pressure average of 35 PSI during peak fire flow events or 20 psi during fire flow events. This was caused by substantial growth in the area that exceeded the growth planned in the previous Water Master Plan. The purpose of this project is to construct a pipeline that will provide water to Pump Station 17, Elevated Storage and supply/distribution pipelines in the vicinity of Pump Station 17. This project will construct 10,576 linear feet of 24" line for distribution and to the elevated storage tank, 745 linear feet of 30" line from the pump station to distribution and lastly 4,565 linear feet of 36" for supply to the pump station. In order to construct this project, the City of Lubbock issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the construction of the pipeline.
