Ordinance 2nd Reading - Right-of-Way: Consider Ordinance No. 2026-O0065, and related documents, abandoning and closing a 2.165-acre portion of the Gates of Glory, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, located in Section 18, Block E-2, on the east side of Memphis Avenue, south of 111th Street, and north of 113th Street.

On May 26, 2026, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance.

The City of Lubbock is in receipt of a request to abandon and close a stormwater drainage and impoundment easement located in Tract C of the Gates of Glory Addition, Section 18, Block E-2, on the east side of Memphis Avenue, south of 111th Street, north of 113th Street.

The total area of the easements being closed is 94,307 square feet. The closure has no cost and no new easement will be dedicated. The proponent desires to close the easements due to a change in the development of this property.

All City departments and franchise utility companies are in agreement with the closure.
