Item Summary
Purchase Order 31060015 for $52,003, pays for the cost to repair Fire Engine #1 (V# 82016040), a 2016 Rosenbauer Fire Apparatus. Daco Fire Safety Equipment performed the repairs for Lubbock Fire Rescue, in order to return Engine #1 to service. On Saturday, December 5, 2020, Fire Engine #1 was involved in an accident with a civilian vehicle traveling the wrong direction. The damage sustained to the Fire Engine was extensive and rendered it inoperable. Daco Fire Safety Equipment, the original manufacturer of Fire Engine #1, was chosen to do the repairs because a factory level repair was needed and the existing warranty required it.
Fiscal Impact
The cost of the repair is $52,003. $1,000 is being paid from the Lubbock Fire Rescue General Maintenance Fund in the FY 2020-2021 Operating Budget. $51,003 is being paid from the Property Insurance Deductible Account in the FY 2020-2021 Operating Budget of Risk Management.
