Resolution - Solid Waste:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an Overhead Electric Power Line Easement over and across portions of City owned property located in Section 33, Block A, G.C. & S.F. Co. Survey, Lubbock County, Texas, being more commonly known as Landfill 69, by and between the City of Lubbock and Southwestern Public Service Company.
Item Summary
Southwestern Public Service Company (SPS) dba Xcel Energy currently has a 35-feet wide electrical power line easement on the western edge of Landfill 69. SPS desires to wreck-out and re-build their existing double circuit 115/69 kilovolt transmission line located in this easement. SPS will maintain the centerline of the existing transmission line and will replace the existing structures with single monopole steel structures. In order to meet the clearance requirements and engineering standards, additional right-of-way is needed. This Overhead Electric Power Line Easement will grant an additional 35-feet wide easement adjacent to the eastern boundary of the existing easement, thus providing a total 70-feet wide easement covering 3.65 acres. In addition, the easement grants a temporary 30-feet wide construction workspace along the western boundary of the existing easement. SPS will pay the City $5,000 per acre for the full width of the easement and $500 per acre for the temporary construction workspace.
