Resolution - Police: Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Purchase Order 10026558, with Galls, LLC, for the purchase of ballistic shields for the Lubbock Police Department.

Item Summary

The Lubbock Police Department applied for and was awarded a grant through the Office of the Governor, SH-Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program, for the purchase of ballistic shields. The ballistic shields are being purchased through PUR 17462/ BuyBoard 670-22, with reimbursement from the State of Texas Office of the Governor Grant program FY 2023.  The grant funding will allow the department to purchase 40 Paraclete Vanguard Level III 20x30 ballistic shields, with viewport and light.  The shields will be dispersed among the Lubbock Police Department (LPD) Special Response Group, the LPD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, and the LPD Division Stations.

Fiscal Impact

Purchase Order 10026558, with Galls LLS, for $255,088.80, is fully funded through reimbursement from the State of Texas Office of the Governor Grant Program FY 2023.
