Resolution - City Manager: Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a grant amendment between the City of Lubbock and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, to remove a grant encumbrance from a portion of the Lubbock Youth Sports Complex, as the first part of a conversion with delayed replacement.

Item Summary

The proposed grant amendment between the City of Lubbock and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is related to a 39.44 acre tract of land located at the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and FM 1585.  The 39.44 acre parcel is currently part of the Lubbock Youth Sports Complex and is undeveloped. Of the 39.44 acres, 14.13 acres are needed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for construction of a portion of Loop 88.   The proposed grant amendment removes the grant encumbrance on this portion of the grant project and provides the City of Lubbock up to 1 year to find the replacement property and complete the conversion process.  The replacement property must be similar in dollar and recreational value.
