Resolution - Parks and Recreation:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Professional Services Contract 16003 with Turf Raider Land and Landscape, for grounds, trees, fountain, turf and maintenance at the May 11, 1970 Tornado Memorial in Lubbock National Bank Park.
Item Summary
As part of the Downtown Revitalization Action Plan, the City Council approved a capital project in February 2016, to construct a Downtown Gateway Tornado Memorial, and they appropriated funding for the construction of the project. The Tornado Memorial project was constructed by Lee Lewis Construction, Inc., on a 1.455 acre tract located at Avenue Q and Glenna Goodacre Boulevard.
An Invitation to Bid was issued to local vendors to request bids for the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of the turf areas, hard scapes, fountain, flowerbeds, litter control and irrigation. In response to ITB 21-16003-KM, the following bids were received and opened on August 3, 2021:

Staff recommends award to the lowest bidder, Turf Raider Land & Landscape of Lubbock, Texas for $39,420.00. The term of the contract shall be for one year, with the option of 2 one-year extensions, said date of term beginning upon formal approval.
Fiscal Impact
The contract cost is $39,420, and is budgeted in Parks and Recreation Budget in Custodial Services.
