On July 25, 2023, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance.

I. Amend Capital Improvement Project 92779, Splash Pads-ARPA, and appropriate funding in the amount of $2,178,055, from $5,144,259 to $7,322,314. Funding will be from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

The additional funding will afford the following benefits to the Splash Pad Project.
 

1. Increase the size of the pump systems, which provide additional water volume, square footage, and capacity;
2. Provide greater recreational value with larger water features;
3. Include more shade structures and patron seating areas; and
4. Incorporate designs in the surfacing that will enhance the overall aesthetic of the facilities.
