Item Summary

This project is for Local Breaker Backup (LBB) Electrical Grounding and Generator Upgrades Project at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport. The terminal building electrical system consists of a single main 4000-Amp switchgear and a network of downstream power distribution panels. This project provides construction services to replace the electrical power distribution system, replace the standby power system, install electrical infrastructure to support future electric vehicle charging, and complete the existing grounding system. In response to ITB 23-17341-TF, a sole bid was received and opened on June 22, 2023.  The sole bidder was ACME Electric Company of Lubbock, Texas. Airport staff and the Airport Advisory Board recommend contract award to the sole bidder, ACME Electric Company of Lubbock, Texas, for $6,405,600.

Fiscal Impact

Contract 17341 for $6,405,600 is funded in Capital Improvement Project 92770, Terminal Building Electrical Upgrades.
