Resolution - Public Works Streets: Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Contract 17407, with Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc., for concrete repair, replacement, and construction, in the Manhattan Heights Subdivision area.

Item Summary

This project will repair, rebuild, and add concrete structures in the Manhattan Heights area bounded by Canyon Lake Number 6 to the north and east, East 35th Street to the south and east, and the railroad to the west. This project is part of the Street Improvement Projects in the 2022 Bond Package.  Concrete repair will start this process, followed by the asphalt paving work, late next paving season.  Details of the concrete structures placement and specifications are specified in the City of Lubbock Minimum Design Standards. In response to ITB 23-17407-SB, a sole bid was received and opened on July 12, 2023, from Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc., of Le Center, Minnesota. Staff recommends award of this contract to Ti-Zack Concrete Inc., of Le Center, Minnesota for the estimated cost of $2,290,124.43. The contract is awarded by the unit price.  The total amount of the award is estimated based on proposed quantities and actual expenditures may be more or less depending on actual quantities.  The price per unit will not change.  The contract has a term of 200 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed and contains appropriate liquidated damages.

Fiscal Impact

Contract 17407 with Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc. for $2,290,124.43, is funded in the 2022 Street Improvement Bond Package, with Capital Improvement Project 92817, Dunbar/Manhattan Heights - 22B.
