Resolution - Information Technology: Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Purchase Order 33001883, with CDW Government, Inc., for a three-year VMware Enterprise Software Licensing and Support Agreement.

Item Summary

The purchase from CDW Government, Inc., is for a 3-year VMware Enterprise License Agreement for enterprise data center virtualization software, licensing, and support.  The payments will be invoiced annually in the amount of $264,591.38 each year, and will be due on October 15 of 2024, 2025, and 2026. The purchase is made available through the State of Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) Contract DIR-CPO-5303. Texas Local Government Code Chapter 271.083 authorizes local governments to acquire hardware, software and other Information Technology products through the DIR program.  Pursuant to Texas Government Code Chapter 791.025, purchases from DIR contracts meet competitive bid requirements.

Fiscal Impact

The first year amount of $264,591.38 is budgeted in the Information Technology Fiscal Year 2024-25 Operating Budget. The subsequent years will be requested during the budget process for Fiscal Year 2025-26 and 2026-27. The total purchase amount of the 3-year agreement is $793,774.14.
