Resolution - Civic Center: Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Contract 18134, with Armstrong Mechanical Co. Inc., to provide procurement and installation of new heating water piping from the Civic Center Physical Plant to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Item Summary

The City issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement and replacement of the heating water piping at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.  Phase One will replace the piping from the utility vault to just outside the Civic Center. Phase Two will replace the pipe from the utility vault into the physical plant and into the Civic Center, completing the loop. In response to RFP 24-18134-TF, the following bids were received and opened on June 27, 2024.     Contractor Amount Armstrong Mechanical Co. Inc., Lubbock, Texas $823,095 Anthony Mechanical Inc., Lubbock, Texas $1,600,634 The proposals were evaluated using the following criteria: 60 points for Price, 30 points for Contractor Qualifications, and 10 points for Construction Time. The maximum point value is 100 points. After the proposals were evaluated, the following ranking was obtained:   Contractor Total/100 pts Armstrong Mechanical Co. Inc., Lubbock, Texas 97.01 Anthony Mechanical Inc., Lubbock, Texas 68.87 Staff recommends awarding the contract to the highest ranked proposer, Armstrong Mechanical Co. Inc., of Lubbock, Texas for Phase One and Phase Two, in the amount of $823,095.

Contract 18134 for $823,095 is funded in Capital Improvement Project 92773, Civic Center Maintenance Fund.
